The problem
We needed to start redesigning our website builder, but the scale of the project felt overwhelming for the team. I proposed we slice the project down to a new product, Link-in-bio. This would give us an opportunity to make engineering and design decisions in a more focused way while shipping a new product and increasing the value of our service.
Outcome
- 80% of technology reused for website builder
- Design direction validated
- Explored website editing on the mobile web and built a map and perspective on best practices and possibilities
- Influenced company strategy to expand beyond ecommerce, developing a bundle of services to drive value beyond shop sales
